Frequently Asked Questions

The only additional cost is setting up your own telephone line.

Of course — this is your home. Visitors press your personal doorbell at the entrance vestibule, and it rings straight to your phone, so you can let them in straight from your own room.

We have 3 ground floor and 4 upper floor rooms which can be reached by using the stairlift, although all our residents need to be able to exit the building independently, without using the stairlift, in the event of fire

No, if your GP is in the Dunfermline area you can stay with the same practice.  We can help you if you need to change.

We regret that we are unable to accommodate a person with dementia, because we do not provide any personal care, and the house is not staffed overnight.  If you develop dementia while living at Allister House, you will need to find alternative accommodation – we can help you and your family with this.
